Integrative Treatment for Attachment and Trauma in Children
This Integrative Treatment is a research-driven program for children with a history of attachment trauma who are exhibiting behaviors most commonly associated with Attachment Disorder. This treatment approach utilizes a combination of family therapy and EMDR therapy, adapted for this special population.
Integrative Parenting is a 5-week parenting course that will empower caregivers of trauma-affected children with effective techniques to improve relationships with their challenging children. The goal is for parents to learn new parenting techniques to increase the love and laughter in their daily lives.
FACT meets for 5 successive classes for 2 hours each. The class is designed to assist parents in:
identifying the root of their children's misbehaviors
learning effective methods to calm reactive and misbehaving children
strengthening parent-child bonds
identifying the impact of past trauma on the relationship
healing the hurt child through attunement, nurturing messages, and comforting touch
You may be a mental health provider, a social worker, a teacher, or a parent just wanting to better understand the affects of attachment and trauma on the developing child and brain.
